Creating one of a kind item
I learned to sew at a young age watching my mom sew. But I fell in love with sewing at FIDM - being able to create clothing that I once just visualized in my head. I haven't stopped designing or sewing since. But all the years I created these dresses and rompers, something was missing. I wanted something beyond just cute! Each item I create, there needed to be a deeper meaning.
Few years ago, a friend was looking for a doll that looked more Asian. She gave up out of frustration. After much research and designing, I finally made a doll. These dolls represent those that aren't represented - this is to represent kids of different ethnicity; kids with various disabilities or genetic diseases.
